What's Measured

Ball Data:

  1. Ball Speed: The velocity at which the ball is traveling when it leaves the clubface after impact.
  2. Side Spin: Measurement of horizontal spin affecting the ball’s left or right movement in flight.
  3. Back Spin: The amount of spin on the golf ball immediately after impact, measured in RPM, which affects height, distance, and control of the shot.
  4. Side Angle: The angle at which the ball starts its flight relative to a straight target line (horizontal launch angle).
  5. Side Total: Deviation of the ball to the left or right of the target during its flight.
  6. Launch Angle: The initial vertical angle at which the ball launches after impact (relative to the ground).
  7. Angle of Descent: The angle at which the ball descends after reaching its peak trajectory.
  8. Flight Time: The total time the ball remains in the air.
  9. Spin Axis: The tilt angle of the ball’s rotational axis, which determines the ball’s curvature during flight. Positive values indicate rightward curve, and negative values indicate leftward curve.
  10. Distance to Apex: The distance covered by the ball in the air until it reaches the highest point of its trajectory.
  11. Apex: The peak height of the ball’s trajectory.
  12. Ball Flight Type: Description of the ball’s initial start direction and overall shot shape.
  13. Carry Distance: The total distance the ball travels while airborne.
  14. Run: The distance the ball travels after landing on the ground.
  15. Total Distance: The combined distance the ball travels, including carry and run.

Club Data:

  1. Club Speed: The speed of the club head at impact with the ball.
  2. Smash Factor: A measure of the efficiency of impact, calculated by dividing the ball speed by the club speed. A higher smash factor indicates better energy transfer from the club to the ball.
  3. Face to Path: The angular difference between the clubface angle and the club path at impact.
  4. Attack Angle: The angle at which the clubhead approaches the ball—negative indicates descending, positive indicates ascending or sweeping upwards.
  5. Club Path: The direction the club head is moving (in-to-out or out-to-in) at impact, measured relative to the target line.
  6. Face Angle: The direction the clubface is pointing at impact relative to the target line.
  7. Dynamic Loft: The effective loft angle of the club at impact, which influences the launch angle and trajectory of the ball.
  8. Club Lie Angle: The angle between the club shaft and the ground when in the address position, affecting the direction the clubface points at impact.
  9. Impact Point (Vertical, Horizontal): The precise location on the clubface where the ball makes contact during the swing. This affects trajectory, spin, and overall shot performance, with off-center impacts potentially leading to less ideal outcomes.
