[Intro]

Thank you! What's up, guys? Welcome back to Golf Simulator Videos! We've got a really awesome video for you today—so many people have been asking about this one. We're here with the all-new SkyTrak Plus, and we're going to break it all down.

Original SkyTrak Overview

Before we dive into the SkyTrak Plus, let's quickly talk about the original SkyTrak.

  • Over 70,000 units sold
  • Over 300 million shots recorded
  • A decade of popularity
  • Accessible for home users – It required minimal space and worked even in compact setups.

Limitations of the Original SkyTrak

While the original SkyTrak was a great launch monitor, there were a few downsides:

  • Ball Placement – Users had to place the ball directly on a laser dot.
  • Shot Delay – A small delay between hitting the ball and seeing the shot data.
  • Missed Reads – Some users experienced occasional missed shots, but the unit did not provide inaccurate data, which was a positive aspect.

That being said, the SkyTrak Plus is designed to address these limitations.

Introducing SkyTrak Plus

The SkyTrak Plus is priced at $2,995 and comes with several new features and improvements.

Who Owns SkyTrak Now?

SkyTrak is now owned by GolfTEC, which aims to integrate the technology into its fitting and lesson programs.

    • Measures club data including:
      • Clubhead Speed
      • Smash Factor
      • Club Path
      • Face Angle
    • Uses machine learning algorithms to enhance precision.
  2. Improved Photometric Camera System

    • Delivers more accurate ball tracking data.
    • Enhances outdoor performance on mats (not designed for grass use).
  3. Higher Accuracy & Comparison to Tour-Level Monitors

    • SkyTrak conducted studies comparing the SkyTrak Plus to high-end launch monitors and found a small variance in shot data.
  4. Seamless Software Integration

      • E6 Connect
      • WGT Golf
      • The Golf Club 2019
      • Creative Golf 3D
      • Fitness Golf
    • SkyTrak software includes bag mapping, skills assessment, wedge matrix, and a shot optimizer.
  5. New & Improved Shot Optimizer

    • Displays red/yellow/green scoring based on optimal conditions.

  • Reduced Shot Delay – Faster feedback after hitting a shot.
  • 5GHz Wi-Fi Connectivity – Faster and more stable connections.

Notable Changes from Original SkyTrak

  • The ball placement dot appears further from the unit, offering a better setup experience.
  • The delay between hitting a shot and seeing the ball flight is reduced but still noticeable.

Testing Shot Shaping

  • Fade Test – Ball started slightly left and worked back to the right. Success!
  • Draw Test – Ball started right and curved left. Accurate!
  • Straight Shot – Confirmed clean, centered ball flights.
  • Spin Rates & Launch Angles – Data readings were consistent with expectations.

Shot Score System

  • After multiple shots, the shot score system estimated an expected round of 67 if all shots were consistent across clubs.
  • While this isn’t a literal scoring predictor, it gives an idea of shot consistency and potential improvement areas.
