[Intro]

What's up, guys! Welcome back to Golf Simulator Videos. We have an incredible video for you today. We’re not in the normal GSV studio; we’re back in the GSV garage with an entirely new home golf simulator build!

I'm going to show you guys the Carl’s Golf enclosure. I can't tell you how many people have asked about Carl’s DIY setup, and that’s what we’re here to do today—a full review and discussion.

You're going to want to stay tuned for this whole video because not only will I show you and talk about this Carl’s enclosure, but I’m also going to give you a full time-lapse of how I built it all by myself. We’re going to take shots using Mevo+ and GS Pro, showcase the GCQuad along with FSX Play, discuss the screen quality and image quality, and go over all the components I used to put this together.

I also want you to comment below with any questions. If you're looking to purchase the Carl’s Golf enclosure or any golf simulator hardware or software, make sure to shoot me an email or use the links in the description and the pinned comment. It helps support the channel, and I greatly appreciate that.

So let’s go ahead and dive right in!

[Enclosure Overview]

What is unique about this enclosure? Another reason to stay tuned—I'm even going to show you a 4K movie clip. The reason? This enclosure is actually a 16:9 format. A lot of golf simulator enclosures are4:3 or16:10. Don’t get me wrong—I love 16:10, which is the GSV Studio format—but what’s nice about16:9 is that it’s the native format for your widescreen TV or movies.

With a flip of a switch, you can fill up this whole screen and turn it into a home theater. Whether it’s in your garage or living room, you can have a couch or bar behind you, put on sports, stream movies—whatever you want. I’ll give you a sample of that in just a few minutes.

First, let’s talk about what I have going on here. I’m even going to grab my phone and do a little walkthrough.

[Components & Setup]

  • Screen: I bought thepremium screen. Carl’s offers different levels of screens, but I wanted to show off the best. The premium screen isquiet and hasgreat image quality. If your budget allows, I highly recommend going premium.

  • EMT Poles: I also opted for Carl’sEMT poles. The price they offer them at makes it worth it—you won’t have to cut your own EMT, and assembly is much easier. I’ll show a picture of the corner pieces; they bolt together effortlessly.

  • Foam Inserts: I added foam inserts behind the flaps. These are high-quality memory foam, cut to precision to fit right into the corners. This is great for safety—if a stray ball gets hit off to the side, it won’t ricochet dangerously.

  • Hitting Mat & Turf: This is acommercial-grade hitting mat—soft and durable. It’s from the same supplier that makes Soft Strike mats, which many people love. I also have aSynlawn Precision Putt turf, provided by Synlawn of Michigan. If you’re using aradar-based putting system, you might want to make sure your surface is perfectly level.

[Assembly Process]

This enclosure was incredibly easy to put together. The key points:

  • The EMT poles snap together and are tightened with bolts.

  • The enclosure tarp wraps around and secures withVelcro—if you like Velcro, you’ll love Carl’s enclosures!

  • Thebungee ball system makes securing everything simple. The side, top, and other side are all one piece, making setup seamless.

  • I used atemporary projector mount by securing a 2x6 to my garage door rail (after verifying weight specs). TheBenQ 953 projector is4K laser-lit and native16:9, making it perfect for this setup.

Let’s take a look at the time-lapse of how I built this by myself!

[Time-Lapse Assembly Recap]

  • First, I laid down the carpet and organized the poles and pieces.

  • Assembled the frame—poles snapped together and were tightened with bolts.

  • Wrapped the enclosure tarp around the frame and secured it with Velcro.

  • Installed the ball bungees to secure the screen.

  • Inserted the foam padding for safety.

  • Mounted the projector using a simple drop-down mount from a secured 2x6.

  • Ran HDMI cables and adjusted the projector settings.

  • Took a few test shots to ensure everything was aligned properly.

The entire process tookjust over an hour—yes, I’ve assembled enclosures before, but never a Carl’s Golf enclosure. Theirpre-cut holes and labeled poles made it extremely simple.

[Performance Testing]

I set up the Flightscope Mevo+ with7 feet behind the ball andjust over 9 feet to the screen. Let’s discuss a few things:

  • Thepremium screen is extremely quiet—some screens are very loud, but this one absorbs impact well.

  • Minimal wrinkles while maintaining enough give to prevent harsh ball bounce-back.

Let’s hit some shots with GS Pro!

[Iron Shots]

  • First shot: 163 yards with an8-iron—solid strike!

  • Running4K software on ultra settings with an RTX 3080. Performance issmooth.

  • One more shot:super quiet impact with asoft landing.

[Driver Shots]

  • UsingGCQuad & FSX Play.

  • Ball speed: 162 mph

  • Carry: 293 yards

  • Minimal bounce-back, proving the premium screen is worth it.

[4K Movie Test]

Now, let's check out how this setup doubles as a home theater. Turning down the lights, running a4K movie clip—it looksincredible!

The16:9 aspect ratio is perfect for movies, sports, and streaming. If you’re mainly using this for golf,16:10 is greatfor immersion, but 16:9 is excellent for versatility.

[Final Thoughts]

  • Carl’s Golf Simulator Enclosure iseasy to assemble,high-quality, andversatile.

  • If you’re looking for aDIY home golf simulator, this is anexcellent option.

  • Premium screen is a great investment forbetter image quality, reduced noise, and improved bounce-back.

  • The16:9 format makes it great for a multi-purpose setup.
